Adult Classes Are Back at Mindful Martial Arts!

I'm excited to announce that we are once again offering classes for adults here at Mindful Martial Arts.
What We Teach
Our adult classes focus on the fundamental movements, techniques, and strategies of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and practical self-defense — all taught alongside mindfulness training. There are dozens of positions and hundreds of techniques to explore, and they are genuinely exciting to learn.
Who This Is For
This class is designed for beginner adults who want martial arts training as a complement to an already full and busy life — not a replacement for one. If you're not looking for high-level competitive training but are curious about learning a powerful martial art in a grounded, intentional way, this is your class.
Teens ages 12 and up are also welcome.
How We Train
At Mindful Martial Arts, we combine physical skill development with mindfulness training to cultivate an environment that feels safe, grounded, and supportive. We prioritize open communication between members so that everyone feels seen and respected, and so the pace of training always matches your comfort level.
We also train in a way that minimizes the risk of injury. Our goal is to support you in staying healthy — on and off the mat.
What You'll Gain
New ways of moving your body — increasing fitness, flexibility, and physical coordination
Practical self-defense skills — techniques that offer real leverage and effectiveness in a potential confrontation, building genuine confidence
Awareness and prevention skills — learn how to manage awareness of your surroundings, identify red flags, and apply non-physical self-defense strategies that can keep you safe before a situation ever becomes physical
Mindfulness and communication skills that extend far beyond the mat — learn to stay calm under pressure, communicate with clarity, and prevent or de-escalate conflict of all kinds, including situations that could become physically dangerous

Days: Wednesdays & Thursdays
Time: 5:00 – 6:00 PM
Format: Teens (12+) & Adults
Cost:
Adults: $40/month — introductory rate (Lock in this rate by enrolling in May)

Capacity: Limited to 14 — spots are available now but won't last forever.
Try a Class in April — Free, No Commitment
Drop by any class this month to try it out at no cost, with or without prior notice. Just pl›an to arrive by 4:45–4:50 PM so you have time to sign a release form and get suited up in one of our loaner gis (uniforms), assuming we have your size available.
Just in case we don't have a uniform for you, please come prepared:
Wear well-fitted athletic clothing — a high-neck t-shirt in good repair and board shorts or leggings (plain black shirts preferred)
Bring a water bottle
Clip your fingernails and toenails
Put up any long hair
