How to Tie Your Belt - The Cat and Rat Story

To tie the belt, just remember THE CAT AND RAT STORY:

  1. Match the ends, find the middle, put it on the belly button, and wrap both ends around.

  2. One side ends up underneath. That's the cat sleeping under the bed.

  3. The rat goes under the cat (under both straps) and up the wall.

  4. Tighten it as much as you like.

  5. The cat bends its tail.

  6. The rat comes off the wall, jumps over the tail, under the tail, and dives between the sheets.

  7. The cat's tail also dives between the sheets

  8. Pull to tighten :-)

If you want to see another way of doing it, check out this video on YouTube. The second ("flat knot") method shown there is preferred but the first method is okay too.

If the belt is not long enough for the above method you can talk to Coach about getting a bigger belt. In the meantime:

  1. Match the ends, find the middle, put it on the middle of the back, and wrap both ends around.

  2. Do a simple square knot: right over left, then left over right (or vice versa)
